When completing a transaction with Aleyagarden you are supposed to have read the conditions of sales, they are stated below and replicated in other places of the site and Aleyagarden.com Blogs :

- Aleyagarden sells cheap high quality plants or plant material grown on site and never compensates nor replaces those, even if requested by repeat buyers or under the threat of negative comments in online forum and any sort of blackmail : making exceptions off rules would be disloyal to our buyers. Post offices do not compensate for loss or delays of live plant contents.
Buying plants from a nearby shop involves less risks than buying plants shipped by mail without replacement. If you feel that you could not cope with dead plants in the mail or even the possibility of a low survival rate you would better buy from sources that offer compensations, presumably at higher plant prices.
Aleyagarden Blogs collects many comments and reports from their buyers that concern survival rates in the mail, times of transport, plant care practices including experiments. - Your Packing options when placing your order :



Packing is done by default : Aleyagarden ships by default Hoya non rooted cuttings with tips in sphagnum moss as shown on the picture to the left, and paper.

Other options indicated by our buyers in their order include for free : gel in the carton, wrapping in plastic bags, fungicide treatment, spray of a chitosan based solution on leaves, tips in water or gel filled vials. All methods have pros and cons. Using gel or plastic bag decreases the risk of dehydration but cause rot during long travel under heat ( but gel and plastic bags are not advised ) : tell Aleyagarden in a note your packing options. Without your note the plants are shipped according to the by default method described above shown on the picture.

Delays in transport can occur up to 3 weeks, with variations in temperature and humidity that may stress, induce their dormancy or even kill the plants. At Aleyagarden plant types are sold that, on average , have high enough survival rates after 3 weeks in the mail for their offer to be very competitive.




- A professionally controlled quality of the plant health and management : Aleyagarden is a registered exporting plant nursery that abides by the latest EU regulations on plant protection against diseases and pathogens : the plants are grown at least 9 weeks on site before export and on a regular basis, plants and management practices, including uses of pesticides, fungicides and treatment before shipping are closely controlled on site by professional biologists of the Thai Ministry of Agriculture. We replace the plants only if the cause of destruction or return is mentioned in an official certificate and if this cause is not related to importers' misinformation regarding plant import rules or does not coincide with importers' indications or absence of them that made the shipment illegal or subject to an abnormal phytosanitary risk : whatever the cause of interception in such situations we do not replace the plants. We will also resend for free parcels declared lost by a postal investigation in Thailand. Parcels held at customs are not considered lost. We request whenever possible a copy of the importer's permit. How does the buyer's protection policy compare to ebay buyer's protection policy ?

When buying at Aleyagarden you are protected by Paypal buyer's protection policy against non delivery if the parcel is not at the customs. When buying on ebay, buyer's protection consists of the same Paypal's buyer protection plus a feedback rating : the buyer can use the feedback rating on ebay to force the seller to refund or resend the plants ( under a 98% satisfaction an ebay seller has a risk of being frozen by ebay and is at disadvantage in search engine placement ). When not buying on ebay only the threat of public critic or negative feedback on forum could force the seller, but there are limitations to that as readers will not follow and even will act the opposite way if they feel that the buyer is abusing as the seller acted in accordance with conditions of sale easily viewable. Indeed a negative statement or organized critics in a forum in order to force a seller off conditions of sale or shoot down a competitor, if followed by loads of positive testimonies from repeat buyers will increase visits of the targeted shop and tend to increase sales. Also legal retaliation is an option. The conditions of sale will be the main point in the court sentence. Aleyagarden does not offer compensations off conditions of sale, not even exceptionally and not even to repeat buyers.

Are Live Plants eligible for ebay-Paypal protection ? from our experience only the feedback rating on ebay could force a plant seller to resend / refund plants that arrived damaged : live plants are not eligible for ebay or Paypal protection against item not as described, they are in the non-tangible item category, although they are physical goods. Live plants are like other intangible items and like customs made items, services, cars, airline flight tickets, licenses, digital goods : a claim on the basis that the plants were damaged on arrival or that they were significantly not as described won't be accepted in buyer's favor by ebay or Paypal. If the claim is for a non received item, ebay / Paypal will wait for the postal investigation stating that the parcel is lost and is not with the customs.
