Size is usually from 10 to 15 cm and 2 to 3 nodes at least depending on the species. - weight 45 gr. - The description of the cutting will indicate the size or the number of nodes if they are different.

These non rooted cuttings are intended for hobbyists and professional growers experienced in propagating with a humidifying method, humidifier, terrarium or plastic bag. The cuttings will travel with the bottom in moss, paper and a rooting hormone like acid; transplant gel bits releasing humidity and beneficial microorganisms will be added inside the parcel; these gel bits can be mixed into the soil. A foliar transpiration reducing preservative from a natural source will also benefit a successful start of these not rooted cuttings. The change of setting may cause the leaves to fall off during transport : this is a normal adjustment of the plant to a change. After opening the carton we recommend that you dip the cutting in a warm bath and mix the gel in your growing medium; firmly stick the cutting in a pot containing 50|50 coarse sand and perlite or light soil ( here we use moss and coconut bit mixes ), and moisten; cover the entire potted cutting with a plastic bag or any transparent dome. An ideal setting comprises constant temperature and high humidity - avoid air flows ! - and enough light. Humidifiers are useful accessories in rooms growing tropical plants. The most common causes of problems are over watering, over fertilizing and fluctuations in temperature and humidity ranges. The use of a plastic bag, dome, glasshouse etc without watering is strongly advised for unrooted cuttings or BEFORE rooted plants are reestablished until new green shoots are coming and rooting has expanded : a too long period inside these devices may trigger fungi so attention is required. It may be useful to inoculate the soil with beneficial colonies of Mycorrhizae endospores that will prevent rot driven by the fungus phytophthora ( black rot ). Such endomycorrhizae inoculants will also improve the root system, help keep humidity at a good level and benefit the health of the plants.
