Aquatic plants, tubers , Terminalia catappa leaves, Nelumbo seeds, moss and Mangroves. All aquatic products are grown on aleyagarden premise.
Tubers are grown in pots to allow for a better control of disease and parasites and to prevent erroneous collects. The tubers are cut from a parent so they have a cut section. The separation by cutting from a large mature parent tuber will stimulate the growth of new shoots. Their gross weight is around 60 gr.
Mangroves are also grown exclusively in pots, from seeds. In Thailand both public reforestation programs and private commercial interest have boosted mangrove multiplication. They have recently become popular in gardens with water flows and also in vivariums or in garden areas devoted to exotic pets; attractive amphibious plants with a useful filtering function, all mangrove species easily survive long durations in transport but they are generally not cold water tolerant.
Mangrove are usually slow growing but they are hardy and easy to cultivate and multiply by seeds. They are not like endemic plants growing successfully only in local conditions and that are or should be banned from sale for their protection.
